- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (2–3 minutes).
- Add the egg and vanilla extract. Beat until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, mixing until a dough forms.
- Divide dough into two discs, wrap in plastic, and chill for at least 1 hour.
- Roll out dough to ¼ inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into shapes and place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden. Cool completely.
- For the glaze, whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
- Decorate cooled cookies with glaze and sprinkles. Let icing set before storing.

- Cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to one week.
