- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (2 sticks)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp red gel food coloring
- 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
- Add eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- Stir in red food coloring until evenly distributed.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
- Fold in white chocolate chips if desired.
- Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets, spaced apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
Notes
- For best results, use gel food coloring for a vibrant red color.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
