Description

Delicious red velvet cookies with a hint of cocoa and optional white chocolate chips for extra sweetness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature (2 sticks)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp red gel food coloring
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy (about 3 minutes).
  4. Add eggs one at a time along with the vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  5. Stir in red food coloring until evenly distributed.
  6. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined; avoid over-mixing.
  7. Fold in white chocolate chips if desired.
  8. Scoop dough onto lined baking sheets, spaced apart.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers remain soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks.
