Description
This rich and creamy salted caramel frosting is perfect for cakes and cupcakes.
Ingredients

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce (cooled)
- 1 to 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Place softened butter into a mixing bowl and beat on medium-high speed for 2 to 3 minutes, until pale and fluffy.
- Lower the speed and add powdered sugar gradually, mixing on low until incorporated. Then beat on medium for another 2 minutes.
- Add cooled salted caramel sauce and beat until the frosting is smooth and glossy.
- Add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time, beating well between additions until the desired consistency is reached.
- Optionally, sprinkle in flaky sea salt and give it a final mix. Taste and adjust salt or caramel to preference.

- Ensure the butter is softened to room temperature for the best texture.
