- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 4 soft brioche or potato burger buns
- 4 slices American cheese
- to taste toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, ketchup, mustard
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients on a clean surface.
- Shape about two ounces of ground beef into loose balls and place them on parchment paper.
- Preheat your skillet or grill over medium-high heat until very hot.
- Place the meatballs on the hot surface and press down firmly with a spatula to flatten them to about half an inch thick. Season with salt and pepper.
- After about two minutes, add a slice of cheese on each patty and cover for one minute to melt.
- Assemble the burgers by placing patties on toasted buns and adding your desired toppings.
Notes
- Ensure the grill or skillet is hot enough to achieve a nice sear on the patties.
- Feel free to mix in additional spices or seasonings into the ground beef for extra flavor.
