- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream (or milk)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- Pink food coloring, optional
- Valentine’s sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and 2 tsp vanilla, one at a time, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture.
- Spread the dough evenly into the pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 20–24 minutes until the edges are golden and center is set. Let cool completely.
- For the frosting: Beat 1/2 cup butter with powdered sugar until fluffy. Add cream and vanilla. Tint with pink food coloring.
- Spread frosting over cooled bars and top with sprinkles. Slice and serve!
