Description

A delicious bread swirled with fruity jam, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup jam (strawberry or raspberry)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle yeast over the mixture; let sit for about 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Mix in melted butter and eggs until combined. Gradually add flour while stirring to form a sticky dough.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for approximately 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place kneaded dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Punch down the dough, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick, then spread the jam evenly over the surface.
  6. Roll up the dough tightly into a log shape, pinch seams closed, and twist before placing in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Cover again and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown on top and sounds hollow when tapped lightly.
  9. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
