Description

A light and fluffy angel food cake made with crushed pineapple, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 12 large egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed pineapple and sugar, mixing well until sugar dissolves.
  3. In another bowl, whip egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  4. Gently fold the pineapple mixture into the egg whites.
  5. Add all-purpose flour and vanilla extract and fold until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into an ungreased angel food cake pan.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cake is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool inverted on a rack for about 1 hour before removing from the pan.
